A Nashville native and gradudate of Hume-Fogg High School, Dr. Austin Whitaker is excited to be practicing pediatrics in his hometown. After graduating with a degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Dr. Whitaker received his medical degree from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
He completed his pediatrics residency at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. In November 2017, Dr. Whitaker and his wife Rachel welcomed twins Caroline and Anderson. Dr. Whitaker’s favorite part of being a pediatrician is building relationships with families and being able to see children in all stages of life, from birth to college.
