Chinatown Dumpling House

Yum! I'm always in the search for a tasty dumpling. I wandered inside the food court on Race street and found a hidden gem. It is a new place here and I hope it does well. The chicken dumpling tasted like chicken! I know that sounds strange but many chicken dumpling places have a mysterious rubbery concoction. These were wonderful! I'm looking forward to trying the other types! The person that took my order was very polite.

Dim Sum Garden

Good service, solid food and a no rush atmosphere that is perfect for a Saturday low stress dumpling oriented meal. The crab dumpling was probably their best dish.

Nom Wah Philadelphia

My sister told me this spot first started in NYC Chinatown as the first dim sum restaurant to have started off. The wait apparently would go on for hours!! Have to try this spot here in Philadelphia really was a treat! It was so good that we ended going here for twice in one day!!! Lunch, and then dinner!!! Everything is good here! The phoenix bun has some crystallized sugar for a nice crunch texture as the golden lava yolk custard flowed out. Pan fried turnip cake had a nice crispy! Rice roll with fried donut was carbs heaven! Scallion pancake was nicely fried and crispy with every bite. I can keep going on and on about each dish!! Yum!! Oh!! Also get the sweet and sour dumpling sauce!! Very mild spice, and a good match for everything!!

ShangHai 1

No frills inside but man is the food to die for. Best Chinese food I've had in a very long time the soup dumplings were incredible and wish there was unlimited room in my belly. There was nothing that was even close to mediocre including the cold cucumber which was the perfect addition to all of the amazing warm spicy goodness.

EMei Restaurant

I come from guizhou and this is borderline of Szechuan so Szechuan food is like home food. 23 years being in the states my first time having duck blooms that's FRESHHHHH and not from the packaged tofu packaging. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU WILL NOT REGRET!!!! Duck Soup- little bit of sour taste and very delicious. Light enough to let me wash away all the spice and actual pieces of duck inside. Highly recommend Pepped frog- very good. Very good flavors Gizzard and liver dish: there was no liver. When asked, check told waiter, oh yeah we are out. I mean aren't you supposed to tell me...? They took the dish Overall very very impressed and I'm a spoiled NYer that comes from the most authentic food in flushing!!! You won't regret

David's Mai Lai Wah

The best after hours, after drinking, after partying, good quality and tasty Chinese food you can get. A destination with dates from your younger days or a night our after drinking cosmos on the town. David is great. Went 13 years ago and always go late night. Great noodles and Mei fun dishes! Then take home. Sleep and get up at 2am and eat the leftover noodles.

Chu Shang Spicy 厨尚麻辣

Came here for a quick dinner. During pandemic, this place still attracted lots of young people. We ordered two entrees. One Marla soup with 7-8 items selected. It was very good, but I must admit I selected too much food... I guess 5-6 is more than enough. The other one we ordered is the spicy dry pot, also selected 7-8 items, and once again too much. The flavor was great. We got the mild spicy but it was hot enough for us. The waiters were very nice and helpful!

Buddakan

Uh, yes!!!! Went for girls night a few weeks ago and had an incredible experience! My server was funny, responsive and helpful when giving menu suggestions. As a vegetarian, there were no shortages of options for me to pick from - and leeach one was fantastic, filling, and fresh! My friend is not vegetarian and felt her food was also exquisite. The portion sizes are fantastic and make the premium dollar price tags totally worth it! I had the tofu bao, edamame dumplings (fav), eggplant side with rice, and a lychee martini (if you like lychee - GET THIS!!!)! The tofu was crispy and very flavorful -perfectly garnished with cold toppings to breakup the chewiness of the bao. I would drink the broth that my dumplings came in if I could, BEST edamame dumplings I have had - and I have had a lot! Finished off the meal with a unique crème brûlée garnished with yuzu berries. Let's just say that my friend and I were scraping the bowl! Great place to unwind and hang with a friend. It's not too loud so you can very comfortably hear one another.

M Kee

This is one of my favorite comfort food spots in Chinatown. I come here to get my roast duck/pork or pig cravings satisfied. Even when I'm under the weather, I'd come here to get a pint of porridge/congee. I usually do take out, but in the picture I decided to dine in instead. Pretty quick service if you order your choice of meat over rice. However, other special dishes might take a little while. I've been here countless of times for many years and this place never disappoints.
